3. Engagement and attorney-client relationship
An attorney-client relationship with Litigo is established only upon execution of a written engagement letter or matter scope by both parties. Until then, no advice we give — whether by email, WhatsApp, phone, or in person — constitutes legal counsel you may rely on.
4. Fees and payment
- Fees for any matter are confirmed in writing in a scope document before work begins.
- Statutory fees (court fees, stamp duty, government filing fees) are payable at actuals and billed separately.
- Payments are due as per the schedule in your engagement letter. We do not accept payment in cash above statutory limits.
- Refunds are governed by the engagement letter and the principles of quantum meruit where work has been performed.
5. Confidentiality
All client information is subject to attorney-client privilege and held in strict confidence. We will not disclose information about your matter to any third party except with your written consent or where required by law.
6. Use of the website
You agree not to:
- Use the website for any unlawful purpose;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any portion of the website;
- Use any automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the website without our written consent;
- Reverse-engineer, modify, or create derivative works from the website’s content.
7. Intellectual property
The Litigo logo, brand, content, and design are owned by Litigo Legal Services. You may not reproduce them without our prior written consent. Third-party content (logos, photographs) on this website remains the property of the respective owners.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted under Indian law, Litigo’s liability for any claim arising out of or relating to use of this website is limited to the fees you have paid us for the relevant matter in the twelve months preceding the claim. In no event will we be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Litigo and its team against any claim arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the website.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, India.
